Subject: Order your food by text message from your cell phone!
NEW UPDATE! TARGET LAUNCH DATE: APRIL 21, 2008! Live beta testing will begin in the middle of March!
Here's how it works:
It’s morning and you’re headed to work with your mobile phone in hand. You make a stop at the donut place to get some coffee and pastries. Like always, there’s a long line of people waiting to order food. You stare off into space as the line inches forward slowly. Wouldn’t you rather be doing some else? Checking sports scores? Watching the morning news?
Now it’s lunch time and you’re headed to your favorite sandwich place. Being a smart person, you try to order food using your mobile phone ahead of time. The line rings. And rings. You’ve almost given up hope until someone finally picks up the phone.
“Thanks for calling. How can I help you?
“Hi, I’d like an order for takeout--”
“Can you hold? Thanks!”
The voice at the other end of the line blurts this out so fast as if it were just one long word. Before you can protest, you’re on hold.
Frustrated, you decide to drive down without ordering ahead. After hunting around for a parking spot, you finally get inside the restaurant. There are at least 15 people ahead of you and you now only have 20 minutes left of your lunch break.
Imagine a system where you could have ordered your food on the go by spending just a few seconds sending a SMS text message from your cell phone. Imagine going in, skipping the long lines like a VIP, and having the time to actually enjoy your food or do something else. Text messaging makes this all possible! |
